Fully insulated GORE TEX pant - The Men's Ellipse Pant by Salomon is perfect for skiing under any weather conditions and to be merchandised with both Gravity XCR and Pulse GTX Jacket thanks to the combination of GORE TEX and GORE TEX XCR fabrics. GORE-TEX XCR external fabric GORE-TEX external fabric Breathable Depending on the clothing system and the environment - our body gives off about a sixteenth of a liter of moisture vapor per hour when at rest. With moderate exertion (an easy walk) - we give off about ½ liter of moisture vapor in an hour. Heavy exertion can release a liter or more. A world-class marathon runner was tested and found to release more than four liters per hours. To prevent the discomfort caused by overheating or wet conductive heat loss - perspiration must evaporate and must not be trapped inside the clothing system. GORE-TEX outerwear is very breathable because a water vapor molecule is 700 times smaller than the pores in the GORE-TEX membrane and water vapor can easily pass through it. The benefit is enhanced comfort. You can sweat in breathable clothing: When we over-heat - we perspire - regardless of what we are wearing. At some point - extreme heat - humidity - or heavy perspiration can overload the vapor transmission capacity of any clothing - even a cotton T-shirt. When the system is overloaded - moisture accumulates inside and discomfort often results. A clothing system that includes very breathable GORE-TEX outerwear is less likely to overload and cause discomfort than less breathable - waterproof products. Great MENS PACKS. As with most North Face stuff I feel like it is very expensive until I put it to use. This jacket is much warmer than I expected. Very comfortable too. Not too bad with the LADIES either. |
